CLB Ulisse Conversion
V.Delta was involved in the upgrade of a Barge into Cable Layer at the early stage of the conversion project, preparing a Technical Specification for Yard bidding and assisting during the contract awarding. Next Step of V.Delta assignment was to support the Owner supervising the construction on site and monitoring and approving basic design drawings and yard detailed engineering. The On-Site team is currently based in Singapore since January 2016 to supervise the conversion work progress until the vessel re-delivery planned for the end of May 2016. The Vessel: Ship Name: ULISSE (ex CC PACIFIQUE) Flag: Malta Gross Tonnage: 10157 T Length OA: 120.1 m Breadth Moulded: 33.5 m Draft 7.6 m Scope of Work:
- Eight points positional mooring system comprising of winches and fairleads with a mooring systems control station
- New accommodation block for 57 persons incorporating a power generation room and a control room
- New forecastle to satisfy the min. bow height requirements
- Cable handing equipment to transport and load 7,000 tonnes of cable in a carousel.
Pre-Conversion Activities: V.Delta worked on this project since October 2015 assisting the owner to select the Shipyard and supporting in the procurement of the owner supplied equipment. The team was also involved in the validation of all engineering works through an extensive plan approval process. Conversion Period: On site Team is working to monitor the Yard progresses, Control costs, manage risks, inspect constructions and guarantee solid technical execution. Time-frame is very tight to accomplish all activities therefore full cooperation is required to achieve a successful result.
